AP made a bad one about a decade ago.

They sent a running White Sox gamer and then sent about 10 corrections within the next 30 seconds.

The first story said "Frank Thomas likes to take pitchers deep into the count."

The problem was, they forgot the O in "count"

Oops.

Isn't country spelled with a o? Giggity-giggity.

I think the apology is worse than the error.

"We sure feel silly."

It should read,

"We are ****ing morons... Please forgive us."

Someone lost a job over that one. Of course, they were probably hired at the NY Post the next day.

I love the "Some ****er" one, but I think this is pretty much unbeatable.

This is awesome:

"It has come to the editor's attention that the Herald-Leader neglected to cover the civil rights movement," the clarification read. "We regret the omission."

28 posts before someone got that! BBAM I have a prize for you.

Is it money? I hope it's money.

Or an all-expense paid trip to the next outing?

Is the prize destroying any Blink 182 CDs(s) they might own?

If that's the prize, I don't want the prize. Although, I do have all of mine of the iPod, so I guess it wouldn't matter much.

Sam Zell eliminated that position of civil rights beat writer. They used a picture of a puppy dog in its place for the 60s.

I remember when that happened. The correction not the not covering the civil rights movement. Being Lexington, I'm not surprised.

The some ****er makes me laugh every time. And the roasted nuts, terrific.

I once saw a sports front (competitor's paper) with a headline and subhead with 12 spelling errors. Wished I would've saved it.

We had a girl, instead of writing President Bush's, wrote President's Bush. That's all I've got.

Another year, the WaPo ran a correction after misspelling the name of the Spelling Bee winner. I used that as my sig for a few weeks. Around that same time, the NYT had to run a correction after it misidentified a handful of flyover states in a map graphic.
Didn't know spnited did graphic ID's...

I have an older friend in this biz who claims he once read a Pa. paper with the headline ``Governor's Pen is Busy'' but there was no space between ``Pen'' and ``is''.

I also just spell-checked the graf above.
