Hit the Atomic Cafe or Joe Bologna's. Joe B's is in an old church, best pizza in town. Great breadsticks too.

And if Robby Albarado's in the race, put down $5 to show on him for me. That's my boy.

Go to Buddy's, rright off of Tates Creek on the corner of Euclid. Cool, laid-back atmosphere, good food, reasonable prices, and one of the few places you might be able to get into on Bluegrass day without needing a reservation.

Malone's is great, but expensive and will definitely require reservations. Same with Natasha's.

And the only place she mentioned I've actually been: Cheapside, which is downtown.

Joseph Beth, a huge independent bookstore, has a good cafe. Oh, and there's a Coldstone Creamery too. ;D

DEFINITELY hit Joe Beth. Even if you don't eat a $14 muffin (outrageous prices). But just go, and walk around. Do it for me.

God, I miss Keeneland and Joe Beth.

DOH, Joe Beth rules. You must go to Joe Beth. (But it's not independent -- five-store chain.)

Regatta Seafood Grille, a really kick-ass restaurant, is right next door, too (go downstairs through the area with the children's books and turn left after you pass through the register area). I watched the second round of the NCAA tournament at the bar (full-service with the full menu) there one Saturday night back in March.

It's at Lexington Green shopping center on the south side of town, at the New Circle Road exit to Nicholasville Road. Turning right out of the downstairs exit to Joseph Beth will take you to a Ruby Tuesday's.

I would vehemently disagree on Regatta. Overpriced for the quality. Ate there twice, both times the service was shoddy, the food was cold and not good. Sitting outside is nice though.

I can only go on my experience, which was at the bar. Hot food, served fast. And they serve Sam Adams.

I've heard good things about a place called Peggy's in Greenwood. You'll be able to skip lunch apparently. Just watch out for the cops. 90-something percent of Greenwood's revenue comes from speeding tickets on Route 13.

In addition you can always try the Chick-Fil-A chicken biscuits in Salisbury about 45 minutes or so more an hour down the road. And if you want Delmar itself, well don't be too picky. Yeah, there is a city called Delmar, half of which is in Delaware and the other half in Maryland. That's opposed to Marydel, which is apparently all in Maryland.

I was looking more for the Delaware and Maryland parts.

We ended up leaving obscenely early the other day and got to the Old Chickahominy House in Williamsburg before they switched to lunches. Best breakfasts in Virginia, no question.

Seriously, there is a catfish place out in the country that is supposed to be great. It's just off I-55 south, the last exit before crossing Lake Ponchatrain.

I spent the night in Hammond not too long ago.

Ate at a great Cajun place near a strip mall by the interstate. I think it's called the Cajun Kitchen (sorry, I'm not much help).

It's a little hard-to-find joint where you order off a wall and sit in one of the restaurant's two or three tables. It's mostly carry-out. But the food is great.

You'll recognize the place if: The guy behind the register wears an LSU hat and can't stop talking football, the dialect is rich and the bread pudding is amazing.

Yup. The place is called Middendorf's, and I highly recommend it. There's really no need to look at the menu. Just order the thin fried catfish and some hush puppies.

Just ate a killer meal at Bastante's in St. Louis.

Take 44 West and exit at Hampton. Turn left off the highway. Turn right on Watson, and it's down the way. Two good bars across the street for anyone wanting a post-game.

Find a Super Smokers in the St. Louis area...great BBQ...they also serve in the center field pavilion at Busch Stadium before home games there.

There are parts of Miami you don't want to be caught dead in ... or you may be caught dead in them.

Anywhere near Miami Int'l or the Orange Bowl, yellow lights mean gun it. Do not stop, do not look at another person outside yor car. Nasty place.

Think I've mentioned this before, but I got lost in downtown Miami one weeknight a few years ago, driving from a minor-league game in Fort Lauderdale to my parents' home in Homestead.

I stopped at an A&P grocery store for directions ... and nobody spoke English. Nobody. Think about that.
