As a Canadian, I apologize. It’s awful.
I don't get this at all, Tims has had its ass kicked in the US (aside from places like Buffalo), you'd think they'd focus on improving things in Canada where they are the big kid on the block with no challengers in that space. I only get coffee there but I know there is endless bitching online about the quality of their food products and of often atrocious service in the stores.

Nothing to apologize for.

I'm in the land of Krispy Kreme. It's OK, but I honestly don't understand the fuss.

Dunkin' is better. Tim Hortons - certainly the locales we hit while in Toronto - beat them both.

Feel free to hit up my corner of the world, Tim Hortons. And hurry ... gas stations trying to serve greasy food – some extra, um, gas to go – are taking over as I type this.

Waffle House food when you’re sober ranks at about 3/10.
Waffle House food when you’re drunk ranks at about 13/10.
The grease…..the……everything.
Was never a huge Bourdain fan, but his episode at The Waffle House was very good.

Had Waffle House in Ohio this year, solid diner food, not fancy, but solid and good workers, like Alice.

Krispy Kreme got killed in the Toronto area too
In Massachusetts they opened one or two stores with much fanfare, but after a few weeks nobody cared and were not driving 30 miles for supposedly great donuts.

They never attempted to have the presence of Dunkin, which doomed them.

I’ve been to 2.
One in Amarillo, TX and one in Colorado Springs.
You’re right. It’s solid diner food.
The people in there……not just the workers but the customers……you could see anything from drunk/hungover college kids…..to doctors/nurses coming off a 12-hour rotation to truck drivers.
Great.
Now I’ve got a hankering for something covered, peppered and topped.

We have stand alone KK places with the "hot" sign, and they are in many gas stations and grocery stores... even the grocery stores with a bakery that make their own.

Scattered and covered for me.

The most popular variety I've heard is scattered, smothered, covered and chunked.

Like most of its ilk, it might not be wise for Waffle House to be a staple of one's diet. But on occasion? Bring it.
