Absolutely. Reminiscing about the Dodgers recently and the 65-70 games my brother and I went to in 1975. It was $2 to park and $1.50 each for pavilion seats. So, $5 and we're in the stadium. Then, the beer line opened and our expenditures increased significantly.

Totally agree. The past is history. ... And, golly, it reminds me of my own incredibly epic experience, not the Olympics or World Cup but right up there anyway, when I was sitting high in the right field cheap seats, listening to Vin Scully call the Dodgers-Cardinals game on a headset radio, on the night he regaled us all with the wonderful and timeless Jose Madrigas/RIP Angie anecdote. A magical night all around, on and off the field. Heck, my buddies and I got in on $7 tickets, and it was dollar beer night, too. Thanks again, Mr. Scully!

Heard this on a local L.A. all-news station today.
The story was about the tickets and the hefty prices, they interviewed somebody on the organizing committee. He claimed the prices weren't excessive because the events are so popular. His rationale was: "Everybody wants to drive a Ferrari and they are expensive to own. If you want it bad enough, you pay for it."
The report also said they needed exorbitant ticket prices to pay for the Games and the City of Los Angeles is first up to the tune of $27M to cover any shortfalls.

Correcting myself for mis-hearing originally: $270M from the taxpayers.

Yeah I don’t know what to expect is available. There is a visa preferred window in July so there might not be anything good.

He's now raced six times since turning pro last August. He's won all of them. This one is the fastest time in the world this year at 1:42.08, which is the third-fastest ever by an American, behind only Bryce Hoppel's 1:41.67 and Josh ***y's 1:42.01. In his past two races, just three days apart, he's beaten the 2024 Olympic silver and gold medalists.
