Turns out the Post and News, in rare tabloid synchronicity, arrived at nearly identical covers — both with stylized treatments of the Clintons’ Sopranos-based video atop similar Bloomberg headlines. – Tim Hanrahan

I thought that was one of the newsmagazine covers when he first got arrested. One (Time?) darkened it considerably so he looked more menacing.

That's what I was thinking of. I don't remember the covers when he was acquitted.

Well, the Clintons part is in whatever font was used for the Sopranos titles, so, ya know.

Not as similar as the two examples above, but indeed similar, and the same date.

Well, it is unusual in that there are two stories presently nearly identically. But the same pic, nearly same headline happens at least a couple times a year (on the front and back; before Christmas, both papers had "Miracle on 33rd Street" for a stunning Knicks comeback).

Actually, if one doesn't have that clever treament, then maybe someone gets called in.

You mean Col Allan gets summoned to Rupert's palace for ****-ups on the wood? Uh, no.

The real problems occur when one paper obliterates or scoops the other on a big story. Not for front-page treatments -- Dunn and Allan don't leave the office without knowing what Page One looks like.

Funny enough, I'm pretty sure Patricia Hearst was on the cover of RS the week Bruce was on Time and Newsweek.
