The NFL is weird. But it won't stop people from predicting "sure things" next week even if Seattle wins.

With all due respect for today's news, we have an unexpected shootout on our hands.

This is why I stay in newspapers ... I'm getting too old to clean up my warped sense of humor!

Saints made a terrible mistake on fourth down ... and got away with it.

wtf, sean payton? DOWN 34-20, 4 minutes left in THIRD quarter, you go for a 4th-and-1 ay YOUR OWN 37???

stop for no gain. 'hawks take over. saints' defense stiffens, forces a punt... whew!!!

nonetheless, AWFUL decision by payton...

Mike Mayock a breath of fresh air in the booth.

Let's do this.

But his side kick sounds like he'd be more at home telling me to brush my teeth and floss more often.

When did the Seahawks sign Tommie Frazier?
That might have been one of the most incredible runs I've ever seen in the NFL.

Still have this feeling the Seahawks are going to blow it. Picked them in my pool though.

And if the Seahawks hold on, the talk of only allowing teams with the six best records per conference into the playoffs goes out the window. BUT ... I think it will hasten the argument that teams should be seeded based on records and in terms of who plays at home, which I think is the fair way to go about things.

Also, Seattle was a 10.5-point dog. Who was the last playoff dog that big to win? Broncos over the Packers in Super Bowl XXXII (11.5)?
