Our School Board president attacked and defamed her critics when a debate about school closures found its way there.

It has done more than Twitter or newspaper article comments to ruin human interaction. I didn't think that was possible.

It’s fine if you want to sell something, find a pet, or find someone to do some work to your house.

Haven’t been on it often enough to see the other nonsense, but I’m totally shocked that people would be assholes there.

I know someone who advocated on there for the passing of a levy in her city. An organizer of the opposition called her workplace and tried to get her fired because she's not married and lives with her boyfriend. The workplace didn't fire her; hopefully they laughed at him and hung up.

Well, that was some ****ty writing. Reminded me of the comics on "Wait Wait", only worse.

Boots just kicked a cat across the room and doesn't know why.

I haven't been on it this year - let's take a peek:

We have a new pool, we have two kids, and tons of friends. We have not lived in our home long, but today at 220pm our neighbors asked us to turn down our music. You can’t hear it from the street, and the only reason they hear it is because we share a backyard fence. We had the music on today as we were doing yard work and the kids are playing outside. We are anticipating that with summer fast approaching and our plans to enjoy our backyard oasis, our neighbor will likely complain anytime of the day. I want to be a good neighbor and respectful, but I also want to be able to hang out outside and play music in the middle of the day, especially when our kids (8 and 9) have their friends over. How do we proceed?

The Long Beach Police Department is a black hole of corruption and cover-up that has created a finely tuned systemic instrument of thug-like retaliation that the organization consistently turns against anyone who dares speak its name in ways other than that which is celebratory, endearing or jubilant. ...MORE TO READ THE REST OF THIS ARTICLE GO TO:

Package Thieves Confronted

Wednesday, April 25 - 1:00 pm. Getting ready to leave my driveway. I notice a vehicle with 3 occupants passing by my home slowly. What caught my eyes was the very slow speed of the car and the vehicle did not have a front or back license plate. As they continued past my home, I notice all three looking in the direction of each of my neighbors front porches as they passed. The driver was looking to her left and the other two (a male in front seat and a female in the back seat) where looking to the right. Unfortunately, I did not have a cell phone withe me. I watched their activity as they slowly continued down the block. As they made a good distance away from my home. I pulled out of the driveway and at a good distance, slowly followed behind them. They continue all the way down the block slowly, checking front porches. The vehicle made a turn at the end of the block. For a brief moment, I lost sight of the vehicle. As I approached the corner where they turned. The vehicle was stopped right there at the turn in the middle of the street. The female in the back seat had left the vehicle and was heading to a front porch. If I were to make the turn in their direction I would have to pull around their vehicle. So, I sat their watching the female move up to the front porch. At the same time the female driver and the passenger noticed me sitting at the stop sign watching them. The driver stuck her arm out the window and started waving her hand for me to go around her. I did not, I just sat there watching. At this point the other female stopped her porch approach (the two in the car calling her back.) She retreated back to the vehicle, got in and they took off. The car then made a turn down another street. As I pulled up to the stop sign where they turned. I could see they were following the same slow driving pattern and front porch scoping, I observed on my street. I didn't want to get close to them, so I pulled over to the curb and watched them continue down the block. Then they suddenly stopped. I thought they were going to make another porch approach. No, they sat there at the curb for a couple moments, then the female driver exited the vehicle looking in my direction. She started signalling, waving with her hand for me to come to her. I did not, I just sat there staring at them from six houses away. After a minute or two the male passenger exited the vehicle and started on foot in my direction. As he approached my vehicle I notice he was wearing a gray 'hoodie.' The entire time he had one hand inside the 'stomach pocket' of the hoodie. As he came closer with his pocketed hand, making hand gestures. He was non verbally giving me the signal that he 'had a weapon' in his hoodie pocket. I did not see a weapon, but he sure was trying to make it look like he did, and he wanted me to believe he did. When he approached the vehicle and got within 20 feet I told him: 'I'll only tell you once, don't come any closer!' He stopped, then asked: 'why are you following us?' I did not respond, I just sat there staring at him. After asking a couple more times and no response from me. He turned and started walking back to the vehicle. As I said before, I did not have my cell phone with me (it's broke.) I was hoping for a neighbor or someone else to come around, so I could ask them to call the cops. I had no such luck. Meantime, the vehicle started moving, it left the curb area and started down the block. This time moving at, 'I'm out of here' speed.' I continued down the block behind them at a good distance. During this time all three had their hands out the window flipping me the bird. I was in close proximity of LBCC and I was hoping to see a black n white cruising by. By a stroke of luck a unit happened by. I flagged down the officer and I explained the entire event to him. He got on the radio and took off looking for them. I did not hear back from him so I'm assuming LBPD did not catch up with them. Too make a long story short. These three were out cruising our neighborhood looking to steal packages from porches. Here is a description of the occupants and their vehicle. Make of Vehicle - unknown (later 80s) I did not recognize the make. At least they’re in a box. People here just put their **** on the curb and post, “Free TV at the corner of Maple and Dingleberry!”

Been on for a few weeks. There are about 4-5 posts a day, including a daily wrap-up each evening. The only issue has been someone's position on a local proposition regarding the location of a military cemetery. The next post was that this shouldn't be used for political purposes. Nothing nasty. I might bail out on it.

I have come to the conclusion that my "neighbors" are all a bunch of irresponsible maniacs. They can't keep their damn pets in their possession. I made a joke once about someone's dog, and it got reported as a threatening and violent message.

I also lasted a day or so. Also, the site app shows other members your remote location, right down to your house.

ADT = waste of money

If you need an alarm company and are considering ADT, AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS. We had them for almost 2 years, during which the alarm went off accidentally 4 times, they only called to check on us ONCE. That's 25% of the time. They never even dispatched the police. Total waste of money.

It’s not officially an Internet cesspool until someone writes a positive review of a new restaurant, and is then bombarded with dozens of accusations of being “management” writing a fake review.

I first tried it, helped me sell old TVs and giveaway free furniture, then my wife got on and its been a rabbithole for her time. It serves a nice service when people are wondering "what's that siren at 3 am for?" but yeah, the way people rip on others is way overboard.

It's the online version of the Junior League in my area. Facebook neighborhood page, too.

We have a Next Door for our area and fortunately, it is free from the crap on this message thread. I look at the daily message thread a couple of times a week, and there is no political or racial crap. Most of what I see are people asking for recommendations for various things and people offering services. This Next Door is affiliated with the local daily newspaper, so perhaps there is more control?
