Re:trolling. Engaging in spirited debate, perhaps even ridiculing viewpoints you find absurd or offensive, is different from deliberately being a douche and pissing people off just for the satisfaction of knowing that you've made someone else upset.
It's pretty clear to me which of the more aggressive posters on this board are the ones who are passionate about their opinions...and which ones get their jollies by provocation. The latter activity is the heighth of ***** behavior...as if being all tough within the anonymity and safety of an internet message board makes you some sort of stud. :
I find it depressing that people are ****ing with Alley right after he decalred his intent to be more chilled out.
Back to resolutions...mine is to be healthier...boring, I know. But I really let myself go in 2006 and it shows. Fortunately, I was in pretty good shape before entering my period of self-neglect. 2006 will go down in my history as the year I really let the long/irregular hours and the sedentary nature of journalism get to me.
I think the reason people wait until the calendar changes to make resolutions is because most of the time, the resolutions are about health...diet, exercise, cigs, alcohol. It's hard to make changes like that during the holidays, for obvious reasons. So yeah, it's lame to wait until an arbitrary date on the calendar to get your **** together, but I can see how that comes about.
