Then they haven't watched Pitt. Pitt, who has been outscored something like 141-40 in the second half of games this year. Pitt, who has seven turnovers in the last three games. That works. I'm actually blowing off going to this game. That's how little faith I have. This just seems like a typical Narduzzi/Pitt game. A win gets you ranked and puts you on the fast track to a possible 10-2. 9-3 season. So of course they'll boner it up.

The last two weeks on Draft Kings, the Rutgers game wasn't even available to bet before kickoff. I suspect it's because Draft Kings is Jersey-based and had more liability than it would ever have wanted against Rutgers. I don't even think the parents of Rutgers players would bet on Rutgers anymore.

Elsewhere in the B1G, I can't believe Michigan is favored vs ND, even at home. And I'm not sure Wisconsin shrugs off that Illinois loss to give tOSU a game.

Last year I started following them because they got on this weird run of covering big spreads late in the season, which helped me make some money. This year they're shaping up as a team where any point spread under 30 is like printing money, and I'll probably be betting against them the rest of the season.
I'm suddenly a big fan of Rutgers football. May they continue to suck forever.

Yeah, the lines the last two weeks (-28 vs. Indiana and -29 vs. Minnesota) were right on the money for a frustrating beat if they just score 14 points or give up one less TD. They were hanging in there, point spread wise, until the fourth quarter against Minnesota. It was 21-0 heading to the fourth quarter, then Minnesota scored two touchdowns in 10 seconds and added a third a few minutes later to get over the number.

That's what Rutgers was good at last year. They couldn't score, but they played some really good defense and covered huge spreads against overrated Big Ten teams like Penn State, Michigan State and Wisconsin. This year they're seeing those same spreads while a) not getting that second score; and b) giving up one extra one, and it's making a big difference. They're losing games 42-7 or 35-0 instead of 35-10 or 42-14.

Alabama was a first-half covering machine last year, not so much this year. I could argue for playing against them in the first half again this week, given the backup QB and the fact that the lines are always shaded high for Bama to begin with.
