I've been reading this thread for three days trying to think of something. Noelle is a winner.

lots of females use the noel spelling. besides, the pooch probably wouldn't care about the spelling just as long as you pronounce it correctly.

If you like the Christmas theme, we just rescued a dog that was scheduled to be put down at the shelter, and in honor of the season we named her Holly. (Not keeping her - we volunteer with a Border Collie rescue group, so we just fostered her for a few days. Great dog.)

And Moddy, sorry you lost your Z-dog. We lost our Zamboni a couple of years ago. We now have Zoey - she was going to be Zoe, but the "y" added a goofiness that seemed appropriate. When we got a second dog he was already named Petey. Otherwise he would have been Zeppo, which would have suited him perfectly.

Guy I know who made it his mission to visit every ballpark got a chocolate lab and named him Wrigley.
I'd suggest waiting and letting something in her personality dictate her name. We had a dog who came with the name "Bark" -- we edited it to "Barky" -- but he loved the Kraft singles. Had I known that better, I'd have called him "Cheesie."
Daughter insisted we name the one we have now Marley. She answers to that, or "Baby" or "Boo."
If you're going on a Christmas theme, "Noel" is French for Christmas. "Holly" is nice.

My sister-in-law's Pomeranians, both Christmas presents, are Holly and Noel.

If you go with Noel, be careful with nicknames. You don't want to think her name is "No."

See IJAG's answer. Or go back to Page 1. She WILL name it but she is how she is and she'll ask for suggestion after suggestion. I have to be ready.
Right now we're thinking, "Sue's Miss Christmas" and we'll call her Noelle. But that is not set in stone as our No. 1 suggestion. Keep 'em coming. My son likes Ella and Dixie. I like Noelle better.

I honestly wait a few days, maybe a week to see what kind of characteristics the dog has in it. I came up with one of my dog's names because he liked to lick the outside of soda cans that had condensation on them. Hence the name Soda Pup (not Pop).

*These pups were born on 11/4. Should I have an election-related name at the ready?
*Perhaps I should find a way to suggest to Obama and family that they get one of the litter mates? Anyone have a clue how I could go about doing that?
