First, no one tell The Queen.

Next, say hello to The Queen's probable Christmas present:

I have posted on here that our Big Girl Zinger died Aug. 23. Full of cancer. I've basically been a wreck since. Next good day I have will be the first since she died. I don't think I'm ready for another dog yet. The Queen says she is and she really wants another pup and a bunch of people have told me to just sack up and get her the dog.
So assuming I give it to her for Christmas, the first thing out of her mouth will be, "Oh, we have to have the perfect name."

Our surviving dog is Zoe. My granddog, living with us, is Dynamite though we call her Mizz (short for Dynamizzle). We've ruled out another Z name. The "working" name is Daisy but my son and I don't much like that.

I'm open to suggestion here. Please don't be a wiseass. I don't have the strength to deal with it. If you have something to offer, please do. If you don't, please don't.

Thanks.

I'm terrible at naming pets, but I'll take a stab.

Brownie?
Princess? (since you call your wife Queen)

Yeah, I know. Pretty awful.

View 2 (not safe for work, I guess, given the frontal nudity)

Keep 'em coming. Eliminating some for good reasons, suggestions are good. Zinger's sister, who lives in the 'hood, is Maggie. Our neighbors have a Ginger. Chloe is one of our late guinea pigs.

She's adorable. I'll ask the better half for suggestions later, since she's far more creative than I am.

Guinness
Bella
Dukes :P

What are you looking for? A "traditional" name? Something more unique?

Shouldn't the name be the wife's decision, since it's her gift?

Just saying ...

Yes. That's why I said she'll ask - I want to offer her good suggestions. She picks.
She'll come up with zip on her own. You have to know her to understand. We'll give her 4-5 and she'll say what do you like best? It'll go on about an hour. I can't go into it empty handed.

Unique. We had Fibber and Molly (shelties) and then our labs Zinger and Zoe.
