The woman who played a teenage boy on Megan Meier's myspace was indicted mainly for breaking the rules of myspace today. Meier's mom said it was bitter sweet on MSNBC. I think it's an interesting resolve so many months after the story had quieted down.

I forgot we had a thread on journalism only. I wouldn't think to look over there for the story. :)

I was just about to post this.

She won't get jail time, unfortunately. This is one of those situations when you hope there is a higher power somewhere who will make her pay someday.

Poindexter has no idea why he just ejaculated.

Ya know, I don't mind if I am posting about housing bailouts, and someone posts "Oh yeah, just go **** a teacher". It's been funny all 6,982 times it's been used.

But please don't start me in the "Person X has no idea why.....". It's *so* 'Anything Goes board'.

I am actually getting pms now from people I've never "met" with links to new female teacher cases.

I think its really touched the heartstrings of SportsJournalists.com Nation.

It's an age of specialization.

Oops!

Wired’s Kim Zetter reports that the government’s star witness massively undercut the government’s case against Lori Drew, who is accused of violating federal antihacking laws by using MySpace to taunt 13-year-old Megan Meiers.

Testifying Thursday, Ashley Grills testified that it was she who sent the final message that led Megan to take her life. Most shockingly, Grills also said that she, not Drew, conceived of setting up the fictional “Josh” as a way to spy on what Megan was saying about Drew’s daughter.

and people, please be sure to PM poindexter with every single "teacher ****s a student" story you might run across ... true or not true, he wants to read 'em.

Exclusive: Teen Talks About Her Role in Web Hoax That Led to Suicide
Teen Admits She Created Profile and Wrote Messages; Testifies Against Neighborhood Mom
By JONANN BRADY
April 1, 2008

In an exclusive interview with "Good Morning America," Ashley Grills, 19, admitted she was part of a scheme to create a fake persona on MySpace and start an online romance with a 13-year-old neighbor, Megan Meier.

....

Grills admitted for the first time publicly that she created the profile of Josh Evans, and she told Roberts that she wrote the cruel words, "the world would be a better place without you," that may have pushed Meier over the edge.
