I believe that Calvin Watkins, who had covered SMU, is moving to the Cowboys beat replacing Jacques Taylor. Hadn't heard anything about Whitmire.

This was the news I was waiting for someone else to spill.
Good for T-Mac. Sucks that it had to happen this way, though.
Whitmire is soooo outta there.

MacMahon had been high-profile on their preps coverage, so his elevation was just a matter of time. But a word to the wise, Tim -- watch your back, because nobody in that shop stays the fair-haired boy (or girl) forever.

Football_Bat said:Didn't we have a discussion a year ago or so about possible plagiarism and Whitmire's name on an AP story? I know somebody said it was probably a copy editor typing the wrong hot key, but I seem to remember it not being the first time something along those lines had happened.
I don't know Whitmire, so I'm just asking.
