Universal Pictures has announced a six-year partnership with Hasbro to produce at least four feature films based on branded properties.

The properties include “Monopoly,” “Candy Land,” “Clue,” “Ouija,” “Battleship,” “Magic, The Gathering” and “Stretch Armstrong.”

Clue: already happened
Magic, The Gathering: yeah, I can see a fantasy movie
Battleship, Candy Land, Monopoly: WTF?!

Candy Land will be some movie they market to 4 and 5 year olds.

Not sure what the hell they're going to do with monopoly unless they make it something like Desperate Housewives and use the property names as street names. And maybe the pieces will be last names or something?

9. Mouse Trap

Starring: Christopher Lee as the Ratcatcher, Andy Serkis as the Mouse, Sean Astin as the Green Man

A stirring special effects masterpiece directed by Peter Jackson in which a CGI’d, motion-captured mouse must escape the elaborate machine concocted by Christopher Lee, a diabolical scientist who doesn’t really know any rules but loves playing with the trap he took forever to build. The movie is three hours long because the green man and the net keep not working, but after the mouse escapes very easily, the villain just says **** it and uses the trap on his M.U.S.C.L.E. Men.

I could see Candy Land made into a CGI kid's movie. Maybe Ouija could be a PG-rated kids scary movie, or something like Jumanji. As someone else said, I could see a Magic movie.

That's about it.

Candyland has been done.

Monopoly... just have it be a story of greed and deceit. Four characters racing around town trying to buy up as much property as they can, charging the others money when they arrive at a location already purchased.

And have them avoid enormous dice falling from the skies.

Think of Candy Land as movie close to the Tim Burtons Charle and the Chocolate Factory.

Monopoly will be Training Day meets Wall Street.

If they make Candy Land, it will be the longest movie ever.

Not if the ice cream float card comes up early.

I think I would dig the Chutes and Ladders movie or the Goofus and Gallant movie.

And mass collisions as people try to enter the Free Parking lot to get the kitty.

In a world where there is no "free parking" ...

They won't be able to do Clue better than the one already done.
Monopoly I'm guessing becomes a rags-to-riches-to-rags-to-riches story that is just fluff.
Candy Land will almost certainly be trippy like Wonka.

And a West Side Story-fight scene between characters who play by those rules and those who don't. ;)

You also need a crazy old man who gives out money every time you pass whatever they use for "Go" in the movie.
Plus the highlight of the movie will be the beauty pagent after one of the characters accidentally hits the community chest.

I like Monopoly, but if you're gonna do a movie of a board game it ought to be Stratego because at least you'd get to blow up ****.
