MLB to ESPN: Drop dead

DeLuca suggested that ESPN was an easy target because it is so big and wondered aloud how many other outlets used All-Star rosters that were erroneously distributed by The Associated Press in violation of the TBS embargo.

DeLuca's just being cute there. He knows damn well that very few outlets had the opportunity, with their time frame, to do that. But he knew nobody would bother to call him on it.

Cynicism aside, he's still right.

Perhaps, and the final of his three points in Coast's post is clearly the weakest one. But he's still right. MLB may be within its rights on this one, but it's still a smug, craven way of thinking that got them there. ESPN may be the source of a lot of well-justified teeth gnashing, but it's still a media organization. If this was a major paper's blogger reporting the all-star rosters instead of ESPN, and MLB yanked his credential, I suspect most here would be taking MLB to task.
