They certainly won't come from me. If anything, it only makes the playoffs that much more enjoyable.

You wouldn't have known they had the best record from the buildup. I count 17 "experts" on http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/playoffs2006/news/story?id=2610409this page -- see how many of them picked Detroit.

Then the buildup was wrong. I'm not saying the Yankees weren't favored, I'm saying it's a little redonkulous to act like this was this cataclysmic upset (see also: mid-major fever during March).

Ummm, I've been having a good time at a bad football game played poorly.
Did I miss something?

Right after the game, he went to the backstop and kissed his wife and daughter through the screen.

This drunk fan was about a seat or two to Leyland's right. The fan went up to the netting as Leyland started to turn away. Then Leyland went to the net and moved his head toward the netting, but no kiss was ever made.

Nothing like having the mortality of Kenny in the playoffs. If Grady Little hadn't screwed up a couple of years ago, the Yankees would be baseball's version of the Buffalo Bills, if they aren't already.

Why hope? It's a hopeless situation. The Yankees are going to win it all. Just accept it; that way, you can enjoy the playoffs for what they are.

I'm a Mets fan, dude. I've accepted the fact that the Yanks are going to have a parade down Broadway in 20 or so days. There's no reason to fight it, to hope that there's a team equipped to beat them. Because, there isn't.
