Heigl won an Emmy (acclaim), made news with her defense of TR Knight against Isaiah Washington (scandal), starred in a big movie Knocked Up (success) and finished off by getting married to a musician (big personal life news). That's like a Grand Slam in the celebrity world.

I agree, but both Heigl and Dempsey were on a hit show and had hit movies... Wasn't Dempsey the guy who actually got physical with Isaiah Washington, so he was involved with that as well...

Yes, Heigl was probably more responsible for the success of Knocked Up than Dempsey was for Enchanted...
