Nobody's acquiring Bedard, which is French for soft.

That's a damn good idea.

Funny, I was thinking earlier we should call the next baseball thread Pete Rose.

That'd amaze me if he finished with the most homers in the league but failed to reach the Mendoza line in batting. Probably won't happen, but he's only behind Ryan Howard by one at this point.

Yes. The only way the Yankees are trading for him is if the Mariners take Richie Sexson and Darrel Rasner.

Why would the Mariners take back Sexson, who they just cut? Anyway, if the Yankees are going to catch the Rays and/or the Red Sox, and they're really serious about it this year, I would trade Ian Kennedy to gamble on Bedard.

Bedard in New York would be a trainwreck of epic proportions.
He'd make Carl Pavano look durable, and popular.
Is that the lowest batting average by a guy who the league in homers? didn't mcgwire hit like 170 one year with like 30 homers?buckweaver said:Ha. Was just about to post that, spnited.
And then, four years later, Kingman hit .210 with 35 homers.
