Red Sox getting smoked by the Halos tonight, so far 11-3 in the sixth... ****, they suck tonight.

Both of them eventually started, didn't they? I'm pretty sure Helton did.

Helton started before Manning. Seth Smith didn't do **** at Ole Miss (as a football player).

Los Angeles de Los Angeles y Anaheim are destroying the Red Sox.

Rays about to retake the lead in the East and the Yankees will be within 5 games.

Good times.

Good times.

The Yankees have the worst pitching in the division.

Great times.

Yes.

No one is denying that.

Yet, they are only 5 out.

Kennedy, Wang and Hughes should all be returning before the summer is out - not that Hughes and Kennedy did anything - to provide depth.

If they can hang around, there is always a chance.

No guarantee Wang will be back before September.
Kennedy will not be back in the majors this season.
Hughes..who knows. He's seems to be hurt all the time.

Good luck counting on Sidney Ponson and Darrell Rasner.

Kennedy is in the minors right now. I think he'll be back, maybe not in the rotation, but he'll be back.

Hughes is hurt all the time, but I have a feeling he'll be back for a start or two.

Wang: I really don't know. I haven't ready anything about him recently, but I will trust your opinion.

Like I said, they don't have very good pitching, but they are hanging around and that is all you can ask for.

I thought wang was out till september (at least) and hughes and kennedy have sucked...they'll have to win with ponson, mussina, pettitte, rasner, etc.

Last year, they could hang around because they scored 10 runs a game... they aren't doing that as much this year...

fake edit: rays back in first, sox lose 11-3. Beckett tomorrow.

That's assuming they don't snag someone at the deadline like they seem to always do.
Who'd be available this year? The Mariners said they'll be shopping Eric Bedard, perhaps, but who else?

Edit: http://canadianpress.google.com/article/ALeqM5hD_FnEy69WDpMorOyrHf0wwoxhgQ

So Bedard's injured too. I heard it mentioned somewhere that they'd be shopping him, but he's gonna be out at least until next month.

why ship (or shop) bedard? the m's would have to eat another big contract... right?

Isn't Bedard is on the DL?

Yes. The only way the Yankees are trading for him is if the Mariners take Richie Sexson and Darrel Rasner.

I don't necessarily see them making a trade.

There isn't much out there, unless they go after Burnett and I can't see the Blue Jays trading him in division. Plus, he is injury prone.

Suggestion: Why don't we name these threads after players who wear or wore the number, or would that be too confusing?
