And in the same vein, don't insult Tebow by intimating he has no game. The man is more football player than quarterback, but he is every bit a football player.

*a combination of John Stockton and Steve Nash
The only thing that was missing was telling us that he could turn a television into a watch.
I don't think these guys are raycess, just lazy. There have been hundreds of black NBA guards the last decade. You can't find one comp who is 6-3 and drives the lane all the time?
BrianGriffin said:Don't insult Lin with the Tebow comparison.
Jeremy Lin, who has been compared with Tim Tebow because of his religious bent and underdog role, said the Broncos quarterback has been an inspiration.
Lin, who often praises God in remarks to the media, said he may become a minister after his NBA career. Tebow is known for his religious displays.
“I’ve drawn actually a lot of inspiration just because he’s such a polarizing figure, but I think the things he says in interviews, his approach to the game, is just unbelievable and I respect him so much,” Lin said in a radio interview on 95.7 FM in San Francisco before scoring 38 points in the Knicks’ 92-85 win over the Lakers last night at the Garden. “I actually want to be able to do some of the things that he does in terms of the amount of charity work and the non-profit work, and the way he impacts people off the field. I think that is what is most inspiring to me about him.”

The difference is, Lin can play the position he's asked to play quite well.
Tebow can in very brief spurts surrounded by A LOT of epic awful. In this 4-game stretch, Lin has NEVER been bad, much less epic awful.

YankeeFan said:The nice thing about Lin -- similar to COUNTLESS OTHER CHRISTIANS, including Tebow -- is he's been extremely humble through this. He's deflected praise, and instead given it to his teammates and coach.
An article in the Post mentioned that a dunk was the only thing missing from last night's game.
Looks like he could have had an uncontested dunk in this picture, but chose a layup instead. Unselfish.

That's a severe underestimation of what Tebow has accomplished, Brian, for the very reasons YF gave.

The guy's been sleeping on his brother's couch, and now, in four games, he's become the biggest sports story in New York City and in the NBA.
It might be enough to get me to watch an NBA game for the first time in years.
Last night was certainly the first regular-season game I made a point of watching, probably since the Shaq-Kobe Lakers.
If someone is taking the "wake me" or "sick of it already" approach on this story, I have to ask what it is exactly that those people like about watching sports.

In the first 30 years of my life, there were two manias (Fernando and Wrestle), and in the last three months, there have been two more. It's just too much, too soon. Obviously this kid has talent, but a hot start isn't surprising. Nobody has film on him just yet, nor has anybody had time to learn how to break him down.
He'll come down to Earth in a few weeks. Again, I'm not saying it's a nice little story, considering not many Asian-Americans are in the NBA, he went undrafted and is from Harvard, but "Lin-mania?" Please.

What is it exactly you think you mean by "shmoozing?'

Back to Lin, I am very interested to see what happens when melo gets back. If the offense grinds to a halt again, that's going to be a huge story.
