When I was a child, I wore bobo jeans. My parents would never spring for branded clothes, which I hated but understand now as an adult preparing to dress his children in hand-me-downs and bobos.

Anyway, as I got older and began to buy my own clothes, I bought Levi's.
I have been quite brand loyal to both Levi's jeans and Dockers.

No more. The jeans are just no good anymore.
I've had two pairs of 505s wear out in less than two years, and a pair of 501s ripped in less than a year.
I bought two pairs of 505s that are just awful. The grain on the denim is off, they feel really flimsy, and the size seems slight off.

I'm giving up on Levi's after about 30 years of pretty consistent brand loyalty.

I remember reading this from a former Levi's employee in a Reddit discussion and it made a lot of sense.

Buck, I'm with you. Levi's and only Levi's for years. Now my son and I are Lucky Jeans fans. WAY too expensive but you can get them at outlets and on frequent sales for reasonable prices. Consistent fit, good quality. They're like Levi's used to be - I guess they're not considered as "rugged" but I'll live with that.

I like the 181 because I'm a fat ass but they have some great variety in fits/cuts.

I've been pretty much dedicated to Wrangers, even before Favre got involved. They are just more comfortable.
The trouble I've had with the cargo shorts is the black ones, after a couple of months, you can see brown in the thighs. Makes it look like they're dirty even when they aren't. I also found that two identical pairs were different sizes. Same stock number, etc. One was made in Cambodia, the other in Vietnam.
I wonder if there is a difference buying at Target vs. Walmart.

I have a couple pairs of Gap jeans that have to be 15 years old. My wife bought me a pair of Lucky Brands a couple years ago that also wear well. I think I also have a third pair of Gap jeans. Not so much brand loyalty as much as they still fit. No reason to recycle into anything else.

Like everyone else I grew up with, I was obsessed with the status symbol that was Levi's jeans (and jean jackets). My dad used to think it was insane to pay $30 for a pair of jeans (in the late '80s). He was right. I haven't bought a pair of Levi's since I started paying for my own clothes. I'm happy with whatever is on sale at Wal-Mart.

Stay classy, QBALL. :D

I hate to wear jeans. I don't see where they are comfortable in the least.

Glad I'm not the only one. I'll break them out on a nice fall Saturday but that's about it. Casual Friday at the office for me is khakis and an untucked golf shirt.

I do a lot of jeans with an Oxford shirt, depending on what types of meetings I might have.
That is a biz look for my part of California.
I'm resistant to Wranglers, which seem to indicate some kind of political or lifestyle declaration around here.
