Jackie Brown. Really underwhelming. Pam Grier and Robert Forster are great but De Niro and Keaton are shamefully wasted. Sam Jackson's character is dull too. Bridget Fonda though is probably the most attractive an actress looked in a 90s movie.
Oh yeah Bridget Fonda was the ultimate “sleeper” woman, not glamorous but oh so gorgeous when you actually look.

Fonda’s also great and hot in Singles.

I remember going to see Jackie Brown on Christmas Day with my sisters as a respite from spending time with some annoying relatives.

I’m a fan of the flick. But I can pretty much say that for all Tarintino’s stuff.

I hadn't seen a movie in theaters since sometime last fall (IIRC). Ventured out and watched Mandorlian, Obsession and Backrooms in June.

Mandorlian was fun, perfectly sufficient popcorn blockbuster. A good return to the big screen for Star Wars after seven years.

Obsession was excellent. Those young filmmakers knocked it out of the park.

I didn't care for Backrooms. Interesting premise, but I thought they did too little with it. Too slow in parts. And the term "creepypasta" irritates me for reasons I can't fully explain.

Saw Evil Dead Burn. Obviously meant as a gore-filled thrill ride and succeeds. While there is some subtext (the family at the heast of the movie was obviously an emotional nightmare way before the dead showed up) but not enough to slow it down.

The Odyssey. Very disappointing. Great cast with largely unmemorable set pieces, a dull score and unconvincing fx.

Huge comedown from Oppenheimer.

I saw "Train Dreams" on Netflix last night. Loved it.

I also watched "RIPD." Normally I hate movies with animation, special effects. But Jeff Bridges is so darn good. Yeah, sometimes I'm behind the curve, but about 13 years.

I keep trying to convince myself the FX on the previews are just that, previews on TV, but the only people I see raving about it are Hollywood types who need it to succeed.
