Between this piece and the lede piece that Bryant Gumbel worked himself, a particular good month for the show.

It's become "can't miss" viewing for me, and I'm not much for programs besides films and live sports broadcasts.

And, BTW, where the **** is Tiger Woods in all this?

He should have played a round with the kid by now.

Probably a good thing he's not around. Tiger would've bet the kid $50 a hole, then had Stevie Williams throw the kid's big wheel in a lake when he didn't pay up.
 
Sigh. My phone will ring any second and my Dad and I will have the same conversation we have every couple weeks:

Dad: "Did you watch Gumbel the other night?" (he never calls it Real Sports)
Me: "I don't get HBO."
Dad: "Well (pause) ... you gotta punch up the story on the kid golfer." (as a journalist I apparently get some outer space all-inclusive TV feed.)
Me: "I don't get HBO."
Dad: "Isn't it on the computer somewhere?" (not online, "on the computer")
Me: "Um, sure Dad. I'll go look." (white lie)
