MSNBC says he might be looking to go to Tunisia. (And, I went with their spelling.)

I'll believe it when I see it.

You'd think that at this point at editor at the NYT or whereever would have said, "Hey, the next time you see him, ask him how his goddamned name is spelled."

You also can ask him why, in his 41 years of being a dictator, he still hasn't been able to advance past the rank of Colonel.

Wait a minute, I thought he promised that they would have to kill him to get rid of him?

So he's just another politician who can't keep his promises?

You do understand why there are different acceptable spellings, right? The whole Arabic-has-a-different alphabet thing and people transliterate words using different English letters?

Is Hell accepting or expecting? Talk about poor spelling. Either way, at least Khaddafy will have a home.

It's originally an Arabic word, so there are different acceptable spellings.

Gunfire in Tripoli.

Could this really be the beginning of the end?

If it is, I hope they capture/kill him and he's not able to flee into exile.

Even if it is, the rebels will need weeks to actually secure the place. What Qaddafi forces are left after all this will probably fight to the last man and take whomever they can with them.

Of course, it could all go a lot smoother if this is, as the rebels claim, a joint operation with NATO.

Looks like it's all over.

Celebrations have begun in Green Square.

The media "minders" have disappeared.

Saif Al-Islam reportedly captured.

Gaddafi rumored to have fled to/towards Algeria.

Do you hear the people sing
Lost in the valley of the night
It is the music of a people
Who are climbing to the light
For the wretched of the earth
There is a flame that never dies
Even the darkest night will end
And the sun will rise.
They will live again in freedom
In the garden of the Lord
They will walk behind the plough-share
They will put away the sword
The chain will be broken
And all men will have their reward!
Will you join in the crusade?
Who will be strong and stand with me?
Somewhere beyond the barricade
Is there a world you long to see?
Do you hear the people sing
Say, do you hear the distant drums?
It is the future that they bring
When tomorrow comes!

Well I'm sure calm will ensue now in Libya.

And gas will be up 75 cents a gallon tomorrow
