Wow... I'll be very surprised if either lasts too long...

Kent is legendary for being one of the biggest assholes in baseball. I wonder if he'll be better behaved when the cameras are on him.

They were pretty close to doing a celebrity edition several years ago but Probst said it wouldn't work because they'd all quit.

I'm not so sure about that. Obviously, I don't think you'd have too many "big" stars, but I would think you could get enough together to do a celebrity edition of Survivor, Big Brother or Amazing Race.

Considering the religiosity of the past few seasons, I don't know if anyone, Whelchel or otherwise, can over play Christianity on the show. It's been a big part of the content several times in the past few seasons, to the show's detriment.

Of course, they've also got a blonde girl from Provo with Triple-D breasts to even out the playing field.

I read the thumbnails on the new contestants and it looked like it was going to be a big part of this season as well.

I've always wondered how a guy who grew up in Bellflower and Huntington Beach, went to college at Cal and played for the Blue Jays, Mets, Giants and Indians could become such a hick.

Please. That would rock.

Speaking as someone who lived in the Phillipines for more than three years, please don't. The Filipinos would never forgive us, and it would poison Luzon (same island where I was).

Still surprised they didn't find an island on the Visayas, where there are probably more remote possibilities, but this way Jeff Probst and the others who want to stay connected with society are only about a day's drive from Manila.

I wonder if Kent could try to pretend he wasn't a former major-leaguer. What would be the chances that someone there would recognize him? I don't think Whelchel could get away with that.

A few years ago when Gary Hogeboom was on, I didn't believe it for a second that the one woman (who wound up winning) recognized him.
