I can't stand Huckabee, but when that douche Bill Donahue goes after him, Huckabee must be doing something right.
For background, Huckabee is running an ad in Iowa wishing people a merry Christmas and that Christ is the reason for the season.
So Donahue says ...
Catholic League president Bill Donahue said Huckabee went beyond wishing people a joyous holiday. Donahue said he was especially disturbed by the cross-like image created by a white bookcase in the background of the ad, saying he believed it was a subliminal message.
Huckabee says ...
"If we are so politically correct in this country that a person can't say enough of the nonsense with the political attack ads could we pause for a few days and say Merry Christmas to each other then we're really, really in trouble as a country," Huckabee said.

But then this is the funny part.
Huckabee ... shrugged off the controversy: "I will confess this: If you play the spot backwards it says, 'Paul is dead. Paul is dead.'"

That just made me laugh and laugh.

Well, I'm sure Jesus would approve of his miraculous birth being used to score political points.

I've been telling anyone who would listen that he's twice the politician of anyone else he's up against.

Does anyone trust these campaign platforms anymore?

Hell, you know they're beholden to Big Business for whatever Big Business wants.

Everything else is just rhetoric for the TV cameras. And people just suck this **** up, then vote for the cute guy.

Donahue is a punk. He's comes off like he's the Grand Wizard of the Knights of Columbus. He just about the worst representative of the Catholic faith I can think of.
I'm sure he's one of those guys who shows up early for Mass and sits in the front row to make sure everyone sees him, sings louder than everyone during the songs and makes sure everyone knows that he doesn't need a prayer book to recite the various prayers said during the mass. He's probably the first one down on his knees when it comes time to kneel, and the first one to stand when it comes time to stand. I know guys like this, they try and make up for all the screwing around they do during the week with a big show on Sunday. Total punk.

I also believe, with his obsessions aout Hollywood and "anal sex," that the man has a rich and, ahem, varied sex life.
As for the Huck's brilliance, let's see how he does now that he's ahead.

Huckabee may be the least educated man of all that are running. The man is a bigot. If he receives the nomination from the Republicans, it can only demonstrate that Republicans are simpletons bowing down to religious bigots.

I wonder if Huckabee also ran a Happy Hanukah commercial as well. I figure that if you are willing to wish people a Merry Christmas, you might also want to wish others to have a happy holiday as well. Of course, he may not give a **** about people that don’t celebrate Christmas.

Frankly, the Paul is dead line sounds more like an attempt to evade the truth than a chuckle.

I think he meant

That's a mighty tolerant brush you're painting with, preacher.

You're right. A man that calls homosexuals a threat to the healthcare of the nation and thinks everyone with HIV should be rounded up and placed in camps is someone that I should be tolerant of.

Also, his college degree and experience levels demonstrate that he is the least educated man campaigning. Read any one of the many NY Times pieces on the man and you can pinpoint spots where he just doesn't have a clue (ie flat tax and the possibility that people would purchase goods on the black market).

His big support comes from home schoolers, one of which he placed in charge of education in Arkansas, and fundamentalists that share his hatred for gay men. So, yeah, if he rises to the top rung it will be on the religious intolerant crowd and them alone.

What's tolerance got to do (got to do) with it? We're talking about a guy who wants our consent to control our lives to a major extent for at least 4 years.
