Anyone know what's going on with Hearst's hiring freeze? New hires that were in progress at several of their papers are on hold indefinitely.

Anyone know what's going on with Hearst's hiring freeze? New hires that were in progress at several of their papers are on hold indefinitely.

No idea. But Hearst had been buying papers and telling people that profits were stable. They just bought papers of add to their Michigan and Connecticut properties. Many believed, (at least I did), that they would buy Austin to add to their Texas properties in Houston and San Antonio but it has been quiet on that front. Which is a long way of saying it sounds like fourth quarter revenues really sucked.
