A standing O to the copy editor who wrote this hed on a A-1 profile of Hugh Hefner in Saturday's NY Times:
The Loin in Winter: Hefner Reflects, and Grins

I'm ashamed to say I read clear over that when I read the story this morning. But that's outstanding.

Best ever: Headless body in topless bar (NY Post, c. 1977)

(Waterproof, La., is a small town on the Mississippi River)

One of my all-time favorites was in the Chicago Tribune the morning after the Bartman game:

"The mitt hits the fan"

I think "Ford to City: Drop Dead" is a Hall of Famer, for sure.

After Ike Turner died, the NY Post hit one out of the park "Ike beats Tina to death"

From the Northern Arizona student paper about the Lumberjack women's basketball team playing well at the beginning of the season:

"Lady Jacks off to good start"

I believe Philly Daily News had a "Life's a Mitch" head after one of Williams' meltdowns cost the team a game in the early 90s.
