It's like a radio newscast I heard just this morning - the reporter referred to someone as "a former graduate" of a particular school. Um, no, stupid. Unless a diploma has actually been rescinded, you can't be a "former graduate" of anything. Former student, yes. Former graduate, no. Dumb-ass.
