Man pulled over in Texas for speeding, has gun in glove compartment; sent on his way with only a warning and a wish for a "safe trip":

Dramatic dash-cam footage reveals the moment that George Zimmerman was pulled over by a police officer in Texas for speeding and told them he was carrying a gun.

Just over two weeks since his dramatic acquittal for the murder of Trayvon Martin, 17, in Florida, Zimmerman was caught speeding in Forney, Texas, on US Highway 80 just past FM 548 just after noon.

While Zimmerman, 29, is not seen in the footage, he told the police officer he was headed 'nowhere in particular' and revealed that he was carrying a firearm in his pick-up truck's glove compartment.

He's prepared to "stand his ground" all over again if he had to!

While the five-minute stop itself doesn't exactly sound gasp-worthy on the whole, it sure was a glimpse at what Zimmerman's post-trial life looks like!

For one thing, he's prepared to "stand his ground" all over again if he had to. And we can be sure he's not exactly gun-shy! He's in full possession of a firearm. Yeppp, it's perfectly legal for him to be carrying and traveling. Especially in the Lone Star State, where it's all good as long as you follow the Texas "Must Inform Officer by Law" rule, which he did.

Still, anyone who may have had hopes that the man who shot and killed a 17-year-old would become some kind of non-violent pacifist has their reality check now! He obviously still believes in his own personal gun possession. And it seems he's planning on moving forward on the defensive.

Completely asinine drivel. The writer was expecting Zimmerman to have a Lib Come-to-Jesus moment, but seems to be disappointed it isn't happening.

Speeding? Looks like he was just looking for another way to selfishly, dangerously take a life.

I don't know whether to believe this, as there were no overturned cars and the only reason he would be rushing along the highway would be to rescue people.

Does Batman tell a local cop where he's headed?

Watching the video it sounds like the cop is listening to country music at beginning.
It's odd that you never see Zim pull over. Cop comes up on his truck and it's already stopped.

How did Zim know to pull over? I'm a little skeptical.

I only clicked on this thread because GDTRFB is one of my favorite Grateful Dead songs.

Hey, Inky, have you ever heard the Woody Guthrie original? I've got a CD of original recordings of GD classic covers, which includes GDTRFB, and it's priceless. Includes Rev. Gary Davis' version of Samson & Delilah AND the original Morning Dew by Bonnie Dobson. It's worth finding if you're a Dead freak.

Yeah, I've heard it a few times. I like it, but not as much as the Dead's.

Probably saw the cop's lights and knew he was busted. Video system is usually triggered when the lights come on.

But watching the video the cop was behind a Mustang and there was other traffic. You
do not even see Zim's truck pull over. Why would he have thought that the lights were
for him?
