This week's six-man football score o' the week:

Trent Gorillas 132, Novice Hornets 86

The 218 combined points broke the state record set last year when Throckmorton beat May 102-100 in five overtimes.

This game was called with 6:47 to go in the fourth quarter on the 45-point mercy rule. A kid from Trent scored nine touchdowns. A kid from Novice scored seven.

It must be mentioned that Trent was the first six-man school in the state to install artificial turf (lots of wind farms in that part of the prairie meant lots and lots of tax money for the school district, which has maybe 200 kids K-12). FYI, Zephyr became the second this season. Don't know how they paid for it.

My heartfelt condolences to the survivors of the poor soul who took this call:

TRENT 20 32 48 32—132

How big are the fields in six-man?

80 yards long and 40 yards wide

kickoffs are from the kicking team's 20

teams have to gain 15 yards for a first down

everybody is an eligible receiver, but the ball must change hands before it crosses the line of scrimmage (no quarterback keepers)

PAT kicks are worth two points and a run or pass worth one; field goals are worth four points (if you employ a holder and a kicker, that leaves four to block six)

quarters are 10 minutes

Suck it, suckers! I have Bradley Hutchinson on my six-man fantasy football team!

I had Ariste, who accounted for the same number of TDs passing and receiving and got 7 more points on PATs. Suck this!

I'd make a crack about fantasy-sports nerds, but I'm busy cursing that Trent -47 line I bet the house on.

Given the 45-point mercy rule, you'd be awfully silly to bet on a 47-point line. ;)

In retrospect, yes. But like most sports gamblers, I don't have to actually know anything about what I'm betting on to lay some money down.

Plus maybe I was figuring they'd be up 42 or more when they scored the final TD.
