Gay Iranian faces deportation, execution

How would you handle the situation?
 
Maybe I missed it, but what was the reason for trying to deport him?
 
His student Visa may have expired. He initially went to the U.K. to study, then had his original asylum request rejected.

At that point he fled to the Netherlands, which also rejected his asylum claim, and is going to send him back to Britain.

I'm honestly surprised by this, as the Foreign Office will not normally deport someone who is going to be in danger in his/her own country.

Well, officially, there is no threat to homosexuals in Iran, because according to Iran, it has no homosexuals. Insane as that sounds, that appears to be the logic here.

Yeah, I just think some of my fellow countrymen should be a little more worldly than that, especially if they're working in the Foreign Office as a part of the government.

Make him the Lt Govenor of NY State. He would be nice complement to Gov Patterson
