Just so the Pittsburgh nation around here doesn't get too high on itself because of the Steelers run to the Super Bowl.....

Right now on ESPN Classic -- the famous Braves-Pirates Game 7, the one in which Sid Bream scored the winning run........

Hope this bad memory ruins your day....... ;D

I bet Barry Bonds throws him out this time, what with all the medicine he took over the last few years.

I hate you, zag.

That loud thump you just heard was either 93Devil or OutofPlace kicking the wall.......

YES MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!

Last week, it was Jack Morris doing in the Braves in Game 7 of the '91 World Series.

Was this played in like the 1960s or 70s? When were the Pirates in a Game Seven?

Yes it does seem like a few decades ago and amazingly -- this team that is on right now is the last Pirates team to figure out how to win more games than it lost......

Rich Donnelly never should've sent Merced. C'mon!

(and as I watched Spanky bat, I said, "Baseball players don't look like that anymore." My wife replied, "Except Matt Stairs.")

I forgot all about Cecil Espy coming into the game and not playing Pendleton to pull the ball -- and that Lind error.

This was more of a choke job that I even remember.

Any woman who can make a crack about Matt friggin' Stairs is a keeper.

The two things that stand out watching it again -- Berryhill got two very generous balls which, in slow mo, looked like strikes and if Lind makes the play he's supposed to, the Pirates likely win that game.

Also, Leyland stayed with Drabek two batters too long.

Sid Bream scoring on that hit had to be the slowest a runner has ever gone from second to home and not been thrown out.

And Francisco Cabrera still gets huge ovations on Old Timers Day in Atlanta.

And just as I was feeling good about raining on the parade of Pittsburgh fans around here -- I turn to NFL Network and see "America's Game -- the 1974 Steelers...."

Now I am the one crying and thumping walls...... ;)

Edit: And now that is over and as if that wasn't bad enough -- now the ****ing 1975 Steelers are on............

I might puke then jump out the window.....

Just wait, NFL Network is going to show a half-four recap of Super Bowl XL in the next 24 hours!

Uh-Oh That loud thumping sound you just heard was Lee Jackson Beauregard smashing his remote control into his coffee table....
