... now get ready for "John Rambo."

Here's the trailer:

What's next, "Nick Martinelli" (his character in Rhinestone) or "Marion 'Cobra' Cobretti"?

They never did a Stop or My Mom Will Shoot II?

Must have been because Stallone couldn't keep his hands off Estelle Getty.

Supreme Court Justice Dredd?
Another Party at Kitty and Stud's?
P.A.L.M.?
The Ladies of Flatbush?

The first 15 minutes of Cobra remain the biggest example of a writer/actor stroking himself that I've seen in film.

Wearing his sunglasses inside the dark grocery store?

What would David Caruso do?

Wow...pretty bloody for a trailer.

Oh well...someday it'll come on at 2 a.m. on HBO and keep me occupied for a half hour or so.

I'm a complete sucker for this kind of ****. I watched it when I was a kid and I'll watch it now. God, I really hate myself sometimes.

How about the last few minutes of Rocky Balboa?

ROCKY! ROCKY! ROCKY! ROCKY! And Rocky/Sly waves to the crowd one more time.

I liked Rocky Balboa and thought Sly did a nice job of painting a semi-autobiographical picture of someone who had it all, pissed it away and wanted one more chance to hear the roar of the crowd. None of which makes him any less egomaniacal.

That was really bloody. That was pretty cool how he shot the guy apart in the truck and then ripped out the guy's throat. Quality Stallone right there.

When I first saw the trailer, I thought it was a big-budget spoof for SNL or something. I kinda wish it was.

Great cheesy dialogue, though:

Bad Guy: "I'm gonna blow up this whole ****ing store!!!"

Cobra: "I don't shop here anyway."
