I'm surprised celebrity arrested for small amount marijuana is even a story. Seems like there is more to the story we're not getting here. Who the hell has to post a $10,000 bond to get out jail for hashish? I've seen smaller bonds for attempted murder.

From this story: http://seattletimes.com/html/entertainment/2019210908_apusfionaapplepotarrest.html

Apple "had a little tiny amount of pot and hash," Fleming said. While marijuana possession in small amounts is a misdemeanor, the Texas Controlled Substance Act says possession of hashish in any quantity is a felony.

Hashish is a drug prepared with the resin of the marijuana plant. It contains the same active ingredients as marijuana, but in much higher concentrations.

Reader comment: "If there's any place in the country that needs hash it's definitely West Texas." (September 20, 2012, by g.narls)

Funny, about two weeks ago, I saw she's scheduled to play a concert here in October. Got me wondering what she's been up to, led me to this photo:

... which suddenly makes more sense.

Great. We've gone from a bunny with a pancake on its head, to Fiona Apple with an octopus on her head.
That's progress. I guess.

She hasn't been the same since Paul Thomas Anderson didn't win the Oscar for Magnolia.

And I've driven through Sierra Blanca before. As others have said, it's not exactly on the border, but any drug/illegal immigration traffic coming in or going out of Mexico on the east side of El Paso has to pass through there. So it's as good a place as any to set up a checkpoint.

Every time I hear the word hash - even in the context of hash browns - I think of that driveway.

I'll take the bunny any day over having to see that again.

Her album is probably my favorite of the year. She still makes incredible music.
Yeah, gotta admit that I've been listening to her quite a bit since my "whatever happened to..." investigation. Pretty damned good lyrics.

She has two platinum and one gold record.

We should all waste our talents so well.

Four albums in 18 years is not exactly maximizing what you have.

I've always respected her more than I've really loved her music. I admire the risks she takes and I think she's a really interesting thinker/writer. I don't think she's wasted her talent. I think you need to think about it from a larger perspective, Devil. I think she's a very damaged person who probably had a very difficult time just putting out those four albums. To her, that might very well be an enormous output. I think -- and most of the pieces written about her seem to confirm this -- she would have rather killed herself than remake Tidal six times or have some Sweedish Svengali come in and help her write pop songs. She's battled pretty severe depression her entire life. I think it's kind of remarkable she's done what she's done, despite that.

I think the breakup with P.T. Anderson did lasting damage to her. They seemed to be well-paired and were together a long time.

Please quit making good points. :)
