Congrats to all.

Are the Calkins' related? Did I ask that on an earlier thread? Am I old and stupid? Don't answer the last one.

If they had a sense of humor, this could have been a world class April Fool's opportunity.

Congrats to all the SJ winners.

Honorable mention. I was hoping for top-5. Not really expecting, just hoping.

My congrats to a certain former employee of mine who earned a first-place nod -- even though same former employee has attempted to out-do himself with classlessness in recent weeks.

Hey, "Unbreakable!" All is well in my world! :)

For those who know him, there's (at least) one purely jaw-dropping winner in there.

But, by the same token, there's (at least) one genuinely nice guy in there, too.

There's definitely one on there that has me wanting to jump of the nearest tall building. But hey, good for him.

Thanks. I totally deserved every one of my awards, so it's no surprise, but thanks anyway.

I wonder if we're thinking of the same person.

i see david teel took first in game stories in 40-100....great wrtier...except that he's a columnist.

maybe he pinch-hit with a gamer, but if it was a column submitted in a game story category i think that's bogus.

That happens all the time, spankys.

Posnanski was 3rd in gamer 250k+. Do you think that was really a game story or a game-based column.

Yup. In fact, until we get the links, I wonder how many winners in "gamers" are true gamers and how many are features/columns masquerading as gamers.

Don't know about the story in question but Teel is about as hard a worker as anyone I know and I know he does a lot of features, takeouts, gamers, etc. He ain't just about the column. David is one of several reasons the NN section plays way way way above its size.

Forget the thread I started, this is the true "inside jokes" thread, a Page 6 teaser writ large. :)
