During the WGA strike, Fox is producing new episodes of Family Guy without creator Seth MacFarlane, who does most of the voices:

Terrible, terrible idea.

Fox is continuing work on several episodes that are in various stages of completion. Don't they generally record the voice tracks before they do the animation on a show like this? Perhaps the partly-finished shows already have MacFarlane's voice, so we viewers won't really notice.

Does this make anyone think of that Family Guy aside where Peter complains that all the voices on the Muppet Show were off after Jim Henson died?

I gotta agree with Seth McFarlane: "It would just be a colossal **** move if they did that."

Or the end of the Family Guy episode where Peter starts complaining about violence and bad stuff on TV, Lois warns him about pissing off the network, and Peter says "waht are they going to do? Cut our budget?"
Then the ending is Peter going for a beer, but only every third frame of animation is shown and the characters are all cheap looking.

Peter: Everybody, I got bad news. We've been canceled.

Lois: Oh, no! Peter, how could they do that?

Peter: Well, unfortunately, Lois, there's just no more room on the schedule. We've just got to accept the fact that Fox has to make room for terrific shows, like "Dark Angel", "Titus", "Undeclared", "Action", "That '80s Show", "Wonder Falls", "Fastlane", "Andy Richter Controls the Universe", "Skin", "Girls Club", "Cracking Up", "The Pitts", "Firefly", "Get Real", "Freaky Links", "Wanda at Large", "Costello", "The Lone Gunmen", "A Minute with Stan Hooper", "Normal, Ohio", "Pasadena", "Harsh Realm", "Keen Eddie", "The Street", "American Embassy", "Cedric the Entertainer", "The Tick", "Louie", and "Greg the Bunny".

Lois: Is there no hope?

Peter: Well, I suppose if all those shows go down the tubes, we might have a shot.

that was hilarious.

Now, if FG makes it to 200 episodes, maybe MacFarlene can sign off the clips show by saying "Here's to another 200 episodes. Maybe this time there won't be a ****ing writers strike that inspires Fox to hire a bunch of ****ing scabs to voice the characters."

Some of my favorite lines from that episode...

Peter: "Don't worry Lois, I put a dog turd in there. But he won't know unti..."
Mel Gibson: "There's a dog turd in here."

Lois: "Taking Mel Gibson's towels, bathrobes and Nazi paraphanelia is one thing..."

Lois: "Oh my god, he just walked right off the edge."
Peter: "That's because Christians don't believe in gravity."

I'm pretty sure that was the beginning, actually.

Yep, the first thing you saw after they came back from the hiatus. I died laughing.

I was half paying attention at the time and I tune in to hear what seemed to be a never-ending rant of all these ****ty shows. When my roommate told me what the first line was, I was in stitches.
