Chef et al,

I am headed back to the diamonds, on a 20-degrees-cooler-than-usual day, in my ump blues to work some fall men's league.

Might just have to thumb me one, on principle. :)

If I weren't doing football this year, I probably would do fall baseball.

Then again, I might still work fall ball for some extra money.

If I have a full-time job by the time fall ball begins, I'll keep that Sunday off so I can watch all the NFL I want.

Damn, almost had to thumb TWO tonight -- lippy-ass dudes don't quite understand what "out" means.

OUTING ALERT: RB is Tommy Tuberville...

I may do a couple fall ball games. Not if I can help it though.

Have a full slate of football.

One thing to do fall ball when it's the first week of fall. Another thing to do fall ball when it's 35 degrees, sleeting, and wind out of the north at 40.

My first game of fall ball was in September when the weather was still nearly summer like. My next three were in the cool of October. My last three were downright cold.

Made me wish I'd gotten a long sleeve umpires shirt.
