Watching news now as alerts on my phone go crazy - sounds like it went off early and could have been much worse. Suspect in custody, suffered "serious injuries" TV guy just said. No word on any other injuries.

I was about 15 minutes away on a bus heading in. We then sat in the Lincoln Tunnel for about 30 minutes, while everyone's phones were going crazy. Not the most comfortable feeling if there were coordinated attacks.

They let us off on the street a few blocks away. Huge police presence in the area as expected.

We were just @ that stop yesterday. Got off and walked east to ice skate at Bryant Park. The station itself during rush hour is a mass of people. Yesterday, with Christmas tourists, I kept having the thought of how some maniac could do all kinds of damage if they are committed. On Saturday night, we actually were at that stop too, and walked all the way to Rockefeller Center to see the tree and the Saks building show. Same deal. The police have everything barricaded, but with the mass of people (you can barely walk), I kept thinking about how it is a massive "target." I know this is different, but I have long wondered when idiots would start targeting subway stops.

EDIT: I hadn't read enough before posting. Looks like it was at the Port Authority or near the Port Authority. If it was in the Pot Authority, same deal. So many people are hustling through there in the morning.

They just showed the video, a lot of people in that tunnel. One of the injuries was described as "ringing in the ears."

First description I heard if the suspect described him simply as a “Brooklyn native.”
