Yep. Alcohol, fireworks and boats on lakes are not a real good combination. And Lake Lanier seems to have multiple drownings every summer to boot.

At Lake Martin, they were setting off fireworks from a barge as part of a professional show. One exploded too low and caught the barge on fire.

There was a fireworks explosion here on the Cape two days ago. It was during the set-up for a professional show at a country club. There was a wiring malfunction and a premature explosion. Fortunately, there were only a few injuries and I think one hospitalization.

The show in San Jose was replaced by a drone show at the last minute after Rep
Jimmy Panetta got an emergency clearance from the FAA.

I just read about that. Makes you wonder why drone shows aren’t the norm, especially in California

We were no where near any official fireworks on July 4, but it sounded like a damn war zone around here frm 9:30 to abou 11:30 from all the yahoos shooting stuff off.

Same, but they started at about 5:30 p.m. here last night. They tried to get going again tonight, but after one concussion shell people decided they’d had enough of that last night.

That warehouse was probably built of balsa wood and baling wire --- but that ****er was gone after the smoke blew out.

They eventually found the seven people who were listed as "unaccounted for" (or at least pieces of seven bodies). Horrible way to die.
