News breaking on Twitter now.

"@Boston_Fireman: MCI: 20-30 people injured in front of Boston Public Library after explosion at finish line of Boston Marathon"

AP reporting that sources say the explosions came from inside the Fairmont Copley Hotel near the finish line.

Picture of the aftermath is here. Lots of injured people in the foreground. https://twitter.com/theoriginalwak/status/323871871730864128/photo/1

This has some good links/info.

Holy ****. Raw footage rolling on Fox right now and it caught someone is telling a group of what I guess are reporters that there are "at least three bodies" by "some blown out windows." Assume that means the hotel.

Reuters is also scraping Twitter for a live-blog style entry. Latest is that there may be "another device."

Are runners still out there?
One of the post-blast pictures shows the clock at just past four hours since the start of the Marathon, so there should be a lot left on the course.

I think novice and average-joe marathoners generally target four hours as the number to beat.

I saw another pic of runners being stopped. No surprise, they are being re-routed away from the scene.

Can't imagine how much worse this would have been if it had happened a couple of hours ago.

Video of the explosion as it happened - definitely based in or in front of the hotel: https://twitter.com/AndrewIsADIC/status/323882496762724352
