On a Duke fan site, Duke Basketball Report, a way is suggested to listen to the sounds of the game and filter out **** Vitale's commentary:

Filtering Out Vitale! 12/04/2006

A reader has posted the secret on the bulletin board. Nice work! This just might have us out to get surround sound this weekend...
I posted this in the "One Minute Remaining" thread, and thanks to the replies I received I will repeat the technique here for a larger viewing audience. If you are sick and tired of listening to Vitale, and you are fortunate enough to have access to an audio receiver + surround sound speakers, here is an easy and 100% effective way to eliminate Vitale and Patrick from your viewing experience. If the game is being broadcast in Dolby Digital 5.1 (not sure if that means the game has to be in high def or not, the audiophiles on the board can correct me), the audio is divided up such that the rear channels are *only* the ambient crowd and stadium noises.

On a whim during the Indiana game, I muted the front-left, front-center, front-right, and subwoofer - leaving only my rear channels. To my delight, the only sound remaining was that of Cameron: sneakers squeaking on the hard wood, the crowd shouting, and the occasional PA announcement. You don't hear a peep out of ESPN! If you already have a surround sound setup, you should test this out (unless you enjoy hearing Vital sing 'Hear Comes Santa Claus').

I was always taught to mute the t.v. and if you're lucky, you can dial in to the radio station and listen to the game.

Because most Dookies are indulgent little trust-fund babies who love to have their smug, overfed egos stroked?

Which reminds me of a t-shirt I saw last week in Lawrence. It read "PUKE" in the same font as how Duke does it, blue letters on white shirt. Kind of funny.

My uncle is sure as hell isn't one of those trust-fund ego-stroked babies. He was the first one in the family to go out of state to a different school (Duke). The rest of my mom's sibilings went to Northern Iowa. The Uncle was a working blue/white collar middle-class guy who: a) worked three jobs, b)gave blood, and c). learned to eat chicken noodle soup during his four years there to pay the tuition.

Oh, and he can't stand Dookie V and Fudge Packer and their waxing poetic of the ACC. He says give him Mike Patrick or Mike Gminski anyday. Dookie and Fudge, in his view, are studio gangstas of the ACC.

You're obviously lying. That doesn't fit into Fenian's myopic view.

You must be wrong.

Please note the use of the word "Most" in original post.
And IJAG, please don't make fun of my obvious ocular difficulties. I am an old person.
