And then in December the sun rises at or after 9 a.m.Have hated it all my life.
Move it ahead, leave it ahead. Daylight saving time year-round.
Who cares? We're so soft. There are parts of the world, whose people are much happier than ours, who get 4 or 5 hours of daylight in the winter. The sun comes up at 10 am or even laterr. It's fine. But you know what those countries have that ours doesn't? Lots of lighting and lots of sidewalks. America let developers take over and there's not enough lights and there's not enough sidewalks. EST can diaf. And then in December the sun rises at or after 9 a.m.
Countries where there's more darkness, are more pedestrian friendly and their cities are so well lit. We have let developers guide what this country looks like, and it looks like a dark place. There's no sidewalks. I think if it you could walk out of your house at 7:00 or 8:00 in the morning and it was well lit and you had a place to walk that you wouldn't mind it was still dark.Sunrise at 9:00 a.m. would be fine if we had more sidewalks? I think I missed a segue.
I spent a lot of winter days in Denmark and Sweden, where the sidewalks are really wide and everything is super-pedestrian friendly. Sunrise at 9 am still sucks.Countries where there's more darkness, are more pedestrian friendly and their cities are so well lit. We should do this every Saturday night. Sure, the noon sunsets would be weird, but not as weird as the midnight sunsets 12 weeks later.I love falling back.
