Great Mushnick story today about Sterling being flagged by a cop for chatting on his cel while driving in the Nutmeg State.

As NHR writer Chip Malafronte put it:

"Interview over! Spotless driving record over! Troopers win! Theeeeeeee troopers win!

LOL!!!!

I thought this was about an E-Ticket with John Sterling. Which was just frightening beyond words.

Then again, it WAS about a ticket.

I didn't know Connecticut had a ban on cell phones. Thanks for the heads up, John!

I thought it was the E! True Hollywood Story about John Sterling. In which case they'd have plenty of footage of Braves games of my youth, with Sterling and Skip Caray, Pete Van Wieren and Ernie Johnson.

Connecticut, New York and I believe New Jersey all have cell phone bans...so we can drive for hours and hours until we get to you ****ing bastards in Massachusetts, a lovely land where we can multi-task while driving 75. :D

No ban in new york... just have to use hands-free... you can still multi task.

Speaking of Yankee announcers, I was sad that Bob Shepherd didn't make the All-Star Game. Anyone know how he's doing? I was fortunate enough to hear him announce on my pilgrimage to Yankee Stadium in 2000. It was a bucket list moment.

He was supposed to be back by now, so I hope things didn't get worse, just didn't progress as fast.

[rant]When will lawmakers learn that it is the actual conversation, and not the physical holding of the phone, that causes people that can't multi-task to drive like idiots. I've yet to hear of a case where someone took both hands off the wheel to use the phone with one hand and give hand gestures with the other. [/rant]

with raphael ramirez and glenn hubbaard as the DP combo?

i loved the punchline of the story but would've spelled "theeeeee" phonetically like "thuhhhhhh troopers win!"

I'd be willing to bet there's more accidents and fatalities caused by people trying to eat a four-course fast food meal than by people yammering on their cell phones. Seriously, that's the **** that's dangerous. I mean hell that's how Dawson Leery's dad died!

OH MY GOD OF ALL THE THINGS I HAVE EVER SEEN JOHN STERLING IS IN THE CAR NEXT TO ME GETTING A TICKET! THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT HAS STOPPED JOHN STERLING FOR TALKING ON HIS CELL PHONE WHILE DRIVING! OH MY GOD!!!!!

It is Suzyn Waldman.

Balancing a 10-piece McNugget with an open bbq sauce is a taunting task at 75 mph!
