Nice line by The PD in a story about a traffic accident today:

The steel fell to the pavement, sending chunks of concrete from a nearby curb flying. The concrete struck the windshield of a Cleveland Clinic van. The truck landed on its side and dumped its load.

That's some quality writing. And editing.

You forgot that Cleveland is a Newhouse/Advance paper which means that they're forced to use blog software to post breaking news stories during the day.
 
We've had a spate of semi accidents lately. Next one, I'm using this line for the **** of it.

Also enjoy dropping in "t-boned" as a synonym for "hitting someone broadside" on occasion, too.
