Jeter's really pretty dark for a mixed-race guy. ARod (also from a mixed family) is much lighter than what Jeter is.

I don't think it will happen. Cynical though it undoubtedly is, I think the Dems need to get what they can this year and ramp up for '08. The Dems' message isn't meaty enough to take Congressional power with any hope of permanence just yet, though it would be nice to have oversight hearings STAT on Iraq, torture, etc.
