My point stands. He looks nothing like Jeter. It's way over the line of stupid. He looks way more like Freddie Prinze Jr. :D

Not a thing like Jeter. Jeter's got a different facial structure and different colored eyes (least from what I can see in that pic).

I agree with you two. I think it was a completely asinine comment to make, but I do hope he wins in Tennessee. Bob Corker has done nothing but attack him with ads for the last three months, and I'd love to see him lose in a horrible, horrible way.

Jeter's only half black. His mom is white and his dad is black, so that might explain the light skin.

Jeter's really pretty dark for a mixed-race guy. ARod (also from a mixed family) is much lighter than what Jeter is.

I'm going to hell for this.

I don't see why it's such a big problem to discuss skin tone.

Like it or not, it is an issue that comes up from time to time.

Look who started the thread. Has he ever made anything but completely asinine comments?

He certainly has a passing resemblance to Jeter.... and I think he preens and struts like the Captain, and gets tons of ...., making the comparison legitimate.

Not to mention the really, really creepy purple lips.

Agree. Put a Yankee cap on Ford and I think they look alike.

You know, I don't care if its Derek Jeter, Harold Ford, Paul Zuvella or Wayne Tolleson -- are the Dems going to get the Senate?

I don't think it will happen. Cynical though it undoubtedly is, I think the Dems need to get what they can this year and ramp up for '08. The Dems' message isn't meaty enough to take Congressional power with any hope of permanence just yet, though it would be nice to have oversight hearings STAT on Iraq, torture, etc.

Iraq hasn't QUITE marinated enough to landslide the GOP yet.

2008 will be it, for sure.

Isn't meaty enough? Hell, it's nonexistent.

Oh, well, everybody's got to have a dream, I guess.
