"Man on the Run," the Prime documentary on Paul McCartney's Wings/1970s era. Decent, not great -- even as someone who was a young kid during the Wings era, I knew a lot of the stuff they discussed here (his misadventures recording "Band on the Run" in Nigeria, for example).

One of the best parts was getting quotes from the rotating door of Wings musicians and others who were part of Paul and Linda's life (including, of course, their daughters). My favorite quotes were from Sean Ono Lennon, who apparently is very close to Paul. I guess it makes sense if you think about it like how you get to know and like your best friend's children and watch them grow up.

It was OK. Just felt like it was scrubbed so clean.

The four-parter on Prime about the ABA was good. Gobbled up all four last night.
Only seen the first part so far, but I'm hoping they'll talk about this blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment once they get to Dr. J.

Julius Erving: the Atlanta Hawk.

The Elvis one on Netflix. Col. Parker might have screwed up by not having Elvis go to Europe and the world but he was a brilliant promoter who made Elvis a ton of dough that might not have been there otherwise.

Watched a new doc on Pat Summitt on Hulu. Good doc, but the irony was oozing when Tyler Summitt was talking about his parents' divorce, saying it wasn't often that Summitts had problems in the public eye.

Different aside: my best friend since sixth grade and eventual best man was part of the group of guys who scrimmaged with the Lady Vols under Pat in the early aughts. Now, one of the best high school girls basketball coaches in Knoxville, winning more than 80% of his games.

If you watched “Free Solo,” the HBO four-part series on Dean Potter called “The Dark Wizard” should be on your list. It’s a hell of a story of genius and depression and masterful rock climbing and a self-destructive streak as big as El Cap.
