Position: Director of Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) Program
Organization: Major League Baseball

Duties:
· Directs operations of RBI program

· Maintains and updates the RBI administrative handbook and insures that RBI leagues are in compliance with RBI procedures, requests for information, tournament deadlines and maintenance of adequate insurance

· Directs the planning, promotion, and coordination of tournaments, competitions and seminars

· Ensures program elements function in concert with each other

· Responds to requests regarding details and history of RBI Program

· Provides guidance and insight on progression of program

· Assists in the planning, development and communication of information designed to keep public informed of the accomplishments, point of view and programs (press kit compilation and article search)

· Analyzes facts and circumstances to make recommendations for solving programmatic problems and enhancing program

· Develops and cultivates media relationships

· Manages media and sponsor relations

· Writes press releases and other news and feature items

· Maximizes event coverage through internet and updating web page material, newsletters and brochures

· Ensures that statistical reports are compiled and updated

· Oversees development/maintenance of participant database

· Serves on National RBI Advisory Board

· Assists in selection of RBI National Team members

· Manages grant contracts

· Collaborates with Vice President of Community Affairs to ensure continuous program improvement

· Spearheads recruitment and outreach initiatives

· Manages continual outreach internally and externally to communicate program progress

Expectations:

· Demonstrates enthusiasm for a progressive youth development program

· Uses sound judgment and adherence to boundaries to actively engage in problem solving around youth and program issues

· Be a team player and work collaboratively with co-workers and supervisor

· Uphold RBI values and youth development principles

Qualifications:

· Extensive knowledge of baseball and/or softball

· Coaching experience

· Experience working with inner-city youth

· Leadership skills

· Bachelor's Degree

· Extensive knowledge of youth development and 5 years of full-time work in a youth setting

· Classroom teaching/facilitation experience as a lead facilitator preferred

· Experience in problem-solving with regards to academic success, social emotional competency, conflict resolution and positive decision making

· Excellent communication and listening skills

· Ability to take initiative, multi-task and maintain flexibility under pressure

· Excellent organization skills and attention to detail

· Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Hours: Full-time, requires evening hours and travel

Salary: Commensurate with experience
