I've been sitting here for two days trying to figure out, "What in my posts or arguments have I been dishonest about?," ever since you first accused me of it, and I've been coming up empty. It made me wonder what in the world you were seeing/thinking that would make you say that. I'm guessing I'm not the only one. No way would I have thought it was because I didn't quote you're entire post!

We do that -- or, at least I do that -- precisely because I think I get your point, and wanted to answer the part of your post that I thought needed answering, and we don't need to have miles of quotes after a while.

That's really all there is to it. Nobody's trying to be dishonest, and I don't think anybody has been.

2 semesters of coursework through what is now NCU-Minneapolis (in the early 90s it was North Central Bible College) and almost moved to Liberia after high school to do missions work with a family friend and missionary at our church. Also worked two summers for another of our missionary families and helped with an Arabic-speaking radio show.
Instead, I joined the world of sports journalism. TV first, then radio, now newspaper.

As for the relevance of God in somebody's life, there are many who, quite literally, live for him, for whom every move they make is driven/inspired by a desire to please and serve either him and/or other people.

The discussion deserves better, too, than a constant repeat of your blanket "what is truth?" argument. We get it. You doubt the historicity -- their deeds and even their potential existence -- of all the people in the Bible. Fine. Instead of repeating that argument, go read some books on the historicity of those figures and decide for yourself.

When the term fits, I use it. And I've handled your lame dig and the misleading approach of others just fine. The fact that you are relying on personal digs and lame comments about typos simply backs me up on that.

Thanks... I didn't know him that well, but she's one of the nicest people I've ever met... Her brother was my "little brother" when we played football. They would pair a junior with a freshman and we would show them the ropes... Kind of a cool thing that my school did. I already knew him through his sister, because I was dating her best friend at the time. I stayed friends with her and her brother over the years. Just one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. He'd had health issues when he was younger and they had tried for so long to have a kid and they finally did. It was such a huge thing for them. I'd see the pictures on FB as he was getting skinnier and skinnier and it just ****ed me up to imagine someone having to watch their spouse go through that.

I was on the phone with her brother last night. He was saying that no matter how much she had prepped herself for it, nothing really can ever properly prepare you for something like that.
