I don't understand why people are surprised that people showed up to watch. For a lot of people, this is an opportunity to sit in really good seats -- seats that they normally wouldn't be able to sit in -- for 10 bucks.

If I lived there, I totally would have gone. Granted, I'm a guy who goes to games when I'm on the road whenever possible.

They announced it tonight as "tickets sold" because another day of global warming in Milwaukee left 6 inches of global warming on the ground so it was tough to get to the park. A few people who bought tickets in advance on Monday or Tuesday didn't show up. There were definitely more than 3,000 fewer fannies in the seats tonight.
